This Sunday we have a special service taking place in our church building on Castle Terrace, and on Zoom.
The Zoom link is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/459569403
With a great deal of support and generosity from friends of St Mark's, we have managed to borrow equipment and spent much time and energy arranging our first foray into streaming a service from church.
Those attending in-person will experience similarities to services held before church was shut for lockdown.
Those attending on zoom will be able to see other zoom attendees and see the service. We hope to have another in-person /zoom service next month.
The zoom link for the service will be as usual.
We would really value your comments as to what you felt about this service. For those on zoom, these comments may be made in 'chat' or emailed to pulpitsecretary@edinburgh-unitarians.org.uk
But it is a different service.
Starting at 11.00 it includes a programme of music from Ailsa, playing Chopin on our newly-tuned piano. One of the last performances of this year's Festival/Fringe.
Please find below what you need to do if you wish to have a place in church this Sunday.
Welcome Back to St Mark’s
We are delighted to reopen St Mark’s for planned services. Regular Sunday services will continue online and we will keep you informed on when we plan to hold streamed or hybrid services which you can attend in person. Our aim is to keep everyone as safe and comfortable as possible. We have increased the cleaning regime and will ensure there is good ventilation in the building throughout the service.
There are a few requests that we make when you return to St Mark’s.
Please:-
arrive in church between 10.45 and 10.55
wear a mask while in church.
use the sanitiser available when you come into the church.
sit only in the pews with cushions. Members of the same household can sit together, as others will be sitting at the required distance apart.
The toilets in the vestibule will be available, the other toilets should not be used at present. There will be disposable wipes for you to clean areas you have touched and dispose of the wipe in the bin.
Whilst there will be music during the service, we cannot sing together yet.
There will be no teas or coffee after the service. Virtual teas and coffees will take place on zoom
There won’t be a collection during the service but there will be a basket for donations in the vestibule as you leave.
We need everyone to book ahead by phoning
Mary McKenna on 0131 554 1870 before 8.00pm on the Saturday before services.
